These tent designs are new products yet in development. We anticipate launching them in the spring of 26. If you would like to be on the list to pre-order, please contact us and we will let you know when you will be able to pre-order a tent.
The Top Hand-EXP
The EXP tent is the first of it's kind. A tent that covers many hunt dynamics by being an expandable tent system, meaning that with this one tent you can choose from 3 different shapes and sizes of footprint to accommodate a particular hunt style. This tent is mainly designed for backpack style short term hunts, yet two or more of these tents can easily be connected together to make a larger base camp style tent for larger groups or more space. It's design allows for multiple additions but we only configure it into 3 basic forms as a triangle, square or a diamond footprint.
The tent is made from a non woven material which also has UV protection. This means there is no stitching on the tent. The seams are ultrasonically welded. This is something that can not be done with conventional woven tent fabrics like silpoly or silnylon. So the end result is no need for seam sealing and no more leaky or weak stitched seams!
The best part about this tent design is you can stand up in it. It will weigh less than 3 lbs in its smallest form with a floor and less than 4 lbs in its expanded forms with a floor. The tent is a center pole pyramid style design that uses the Top Hand Tripods legs as the support poles. A dedicated center pole will also be available that would add 24oz to the package. You also have the option to cut a wood pole whenever available in the field. When using the tripod legs for the center pole, the tent is designed to become a tarp for your remaining gear if you decide to leave the tent and hunt the area for the day, of course taking your tripod with you. Then once you return, in less than a minute you can have the center pole built and the tent stood back up.
The tent in it's smallest form is a 9' triangle footprint and uses 6 stake out points with 3 of those being guy lines. The door of the tent is a corner where a proprietary connection that is water/wind proof, and is used to secure the tent panels together. The floor connects to the lower portion of each wall panel and allows for venting when needed to prevent condensation or it can be closed off during windy conditions. The floor is completely removable and the top peak vent cover is the stuff sack for the tent.
The tent size and footprint can also be made into a square or diamond shape by adding a wall panel and a floor filler panel if a floor is desired in the extended space. Having the triangle or diamond shaped footprint option allows for more flexibility in choosing a camp spot where a square footprint can be more challenging to locate enough flat ground for it, but the square however provides more space.
With the square or diamond footprint there is also a narrow panel that can be added to accommodate a stove pipe for a hot tent. The stove panel is used to connect in an added wall. This panel snaps into the wall panels to make that connection, and using spreader bars it can unfold to expose a stove jack or can be left folded and the stove jack remains sealed off.
All of these features we hope to complete development within the next year and have the tent system set up to manufacture by the fall of 26.
If you are interested in being on a preorder list to get one of these tent systems please contact us using the contact page saying you would like to try this new tent concept. However, you must already own one of our tripods to be on the preorder list.
The Top Hand Triarc Tent/ Day Shelter
The Triarc is a 1-2 man shelter designed for the soloist in mind who likes to get back in there light and comfortable. The Triarc has a triangular footprint and uses 3 sectional linking poles that each connect into a bracket that threads into the 3 side ports on the head of the Top Hand Tripod. The tripod sits inside the tent where its legs become the sidewall supports and the sectional poles are bent to create an arc from the tripod head to the corners of the tents footprint. One nice feature is this tent will also handle snow. It also has an optional separate ground cloth that connects into the bottom portion of the sidewalls and it can be vented. The top vent cover is also the stuff sack. There is also a stove jack option panel to become a hot tent. If you have the HandyNet on your Top Hand Tripod you would be able to set any items up out of the way, such as a lantern, cellphone or even as a boot dryer!
Still more to come!!
